Proximal and distal reciprocal changes following cervical deformity malalignment correction

Renaud Lafage et al.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the impact of cervical deformity correction on hyperextension of C0-2. The results show that correction of cervical sagittal malalignment can reduce hyperextension of C0-2 and improve clinical outcomes.

Global alignment taking into account the cervical spine with odontoid hip axis angle (OD-HA)

Emmanuelle Ferrero et al.

Summary: Global alignment analysis is crucial in adult spinal deformity patients (ASD). A new 3D parameter, odontoid hip axis angle (ODHA), was introduced to measure global alignment, showing that patients with abnormally high ODHA values are older with more severe spinal deformity and functional impairment. Cervical area is also involved in compensatory mechanisms, maintaining head over the pelvis.
