Correlation of Soil Characteristics and Citrus Leaf Nutrients Contents in Current Scenario of Layyah District

Niaz Ahmad et al.

Summary: Soils in the citrus production area have slightly alkaline pH and insufficient organic matter content. The majority of soil samples are low in nitrogen, phosphorus, and micronutrient contents. Citrus leaves are also deficient in nitrogen, iron, zinc, and boron.

Photosynthetic Nutrient and Water Use Efficiency of Cucumis sativus under Contrasting Soil Nutrient and Lignosulfonate Levels

Elena Ikkonen et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of sodium lignosulfonate application to soil on plant nutrient absorption and water use efficiency under sufficient and low nutrient conditions. Results showed that nutrient availability had a greater impact on physiological traits than lignosulfonate application, and that lignosulfonate did not successfully alleviate the negative effects of nutrient deficiency on plants.

Physiological response of onion (Allium cepa L.) seedlings to shungite application under two soil water regimes

Elena Ikkonen et al.

Summary: The application of carbon-rich shungite improved plant ecophysiological traits in onion seedlings under sufficient water supply, but was not very successful in eliminating the negative effects of soil water deficit. The positive effects of shungite were more likely related to nutrient content rather than soil water properties.

Sodium lignosulfonate improves shoot growth of Oryza sativa via enhancement of photosynthetic activity and reduced accumulation of reactive oxygen species

Andrew De-Xian Kok et al.

Summary: Lignosulfonate (LS) is a by-product of the sulfite pulping process and is commonly used as a growth enhancer in plants. This study found that NaLS is a better shoot growth enhancer for indica rice MR 219, with an increase in photosynthesis-related proteins.
