A user-friendly anisotropic ductile fracture criterion for sheet metal under proportional loading

Yanshan Lou et al.

Summary: An user-friendly approach was introduced to model the loading direction effect on fracture limits of sheet metals, combined with a newly developed fracture criterion. The method demonstrated high accuracy in predicting anisotropic fracture in different loading conditions for aluminum alloy and steel sheet.

Determination of Johnson-Cook Material Parameters for Armour Plate Using DIC and FEM

Sangeeta Khare et al.

Summary: Understanding material behavior of armour steel under large deformations and high strains during loading is crucial. Johnson-Cook flow stress and failure models were used for modeling and predicting the material behavior. Material parameters were determined experimentally through tests at different strain rates and temperatures.

Extracting true stresses and strains from nominal stresses and strains in tensile testing

Rainer Schwab et al.

Summary: This study addresses two issues in extracting flow curve from nominal stresses and strains in standard tensile testing. It provides exact analytical solutions for true stresses and strains, considering elastic volume changes, and uses a new macroscopic analytical approach to determine the real material behavior in the Luders region. Both approaches are verified through experiments and simulations with good agreement.

Modeling of cylindrical upsetting process for enhanced ductile fracture

Ch HariKrishna et al.

Summary: The study focuses on analyzing the formability of AA2014 cast alloys in response to the demand for lightweight parts in the automobile and aerospace industries. It investigates the impact of adding industrial waste like fly ash on ductility and formability characteristics. Through experimental and analytical methods, key factors affecting material formability and methods for predicting fracture initiation behavior were identified.
