Broadband polarization insensitive and tunable terahertz metamaterial perfect absorber based on the graphene disk and square ribbon

Amirhossein Norouzi-Razani et al.

Summary: In this paper, a broadband metamaterial perfect absorber (MPA) based on graphene is proposed and investigated. The proposed absorber has high absorption rate and wide bandwidth with the use of gold and Rogers RT5880LZ as the conductive substrate and dielectric layer. This structure is not sensitive to polarization and suitable for various applications in the terahertz band.

Near-infrared narrow plasmonic resonances for high-performance optical sensing in a sodium-based nanograting

Hui-Yan Ye et al.

Summary: Metal-insulator-metal nanograting structures, consisting of gold nanostrip arrays and a sodium film, can efficiently excite plasmonic surface lattice resonance mode and gap plasmon resonance mode at near infrared wavelength. The plasmonic surface lattice resonance mode exhibits ultra-narrow linewidth, high sensitivity and a greater figure of merit.

Near-field chiral excitation of universal spin-momentum locking transport of edge waves in microwave metamaterials

Zhixia Xu et al.

Summary: Controlling energy flow in waveguides is crucial for integrated devices across radio frequencies to optical bands. In this study, a broadband near-field chiral source is designed in the microwave band to visualize spin-momentum locking in different metamaterial waveguides. The research focuses on the development of experimental technology and provides insights for designing controllable spin-sorting devices in the microwave band.

Glide symmetry for mode control and significant suppression of coupling in dual-strip SSPP transmission lines

Xiao Tian Yan et al.

Summary: The study introduces glide symmetry to control the dispersion characteristics and modal fields of SSPPs in plasmonic metamaterials. It demonstrates that glide-symmetric TLs have broad working bandwidth and extremely low coupling between neighboring TLs, leading to significantly suppressed crosstalk in hybrid TL arrays compared to uniform TL arrays without glide symmetry.

Pushing the limit of high-Q mode of a single dielectric nanocavity

Lujun Huang et al.

Summary: By utilizing Mie mode engineering to construct eigenvalues that avoid divergence of leaky modes, it is possible to achieve multiple high-Q resonant modes in a single nonspherical dielectric cavity. The generation of high-Q modes is attributed to suppressed radiation and simultaneously quenched electric (magnetic) field in momentum space.
