Measurement of Stress Optical Coefficient for Silicone Adhesive Based on Terahertz Time Domain Spectroscopy

Summary: In this study, the stress optical coefficients of a silicone adhesive were measured using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), and calculation models for the transmission and reflection stress optical coefficients were derived. The results show that the reflective THz-TDS can be used to measure the stress optical coefficient of the material, compensating for the limitations of the traditional transmission measurement method.

Tuning electron bunch with a longitudinally shaped laser to generate half-cycle terahertz radiation pulse

Summary: A new scheme for generating ultrashort THz radiation pulses using electron beams in a tapered undulator is proposed. By optically beating dual-chirp pulses, a chirped laser pulse is obtained, then converted to a chirped density modulation on electron beams through laser-electron interaction. The central frequency and chirp rate of the radiation can be easily tuned by optical elements, and numerical simulations confirm the generation of ultrashort pulses.
