Survival in Pandemic Times: Managing Energy Efficiency, Food Diversity, and Sustainable Practices of Nutrient Intake Amid COVID-19 Crisis

Jianli Geng et al.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on household income, sustainable food diversity, energy consumption, and nutritional security. Descriptive statistics and t-test analysis showed that the pandemic significantly decreased households' food diversity and energy consumption, leading to a higher consumption of low-diversified food. All nutrient consumption remained considerably lower during the COVID-19, with cereals being the primary source of daily dietary needs. The study also found that higher monthly income was associated with worsened food diversity and energy efficiency. Launching a nutrition-sensitive program can help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on energy consumption, food diversity, and nutritional security for low-income individuals.

Green practices and operational performance: The moderating role of agility

Lorenzo Salandri et al.

Summary: This research paper investigates the impact of agility on the relationship between green practices and operational performance. The study finds that agility can improve the impact of green practices on operational performance. Specifically, focusing on green practices related to the circular economy, such as recycling, recovery, and reuse, can enhance operational performance. On the other hand, eco-materials and green packaging do not significantly affect operational performance. Moreover, the study suggests that agility can completely reverse the impact of green practices on operational performance. When agility plays a moderating role, recycling, recovery, and reuse have no significant impact, while eco-materials and green packaging have a positive influence on operational performance.
