Changes in physiological, phytochemical traits and gene expression of two Perovskia species in response to water deficit

Mahvash Afshari et al.

Summary: This study found that the enzymatic and nonenzymatic antioxidants, as well as proline content, increased with the severity of stress in two Perovskia species. On the 7th day of stress, the enzymatic antioxidant activities significantly increased. Additionally, P. atriplicifolia may be better pre-adapted to water deficit physiological tolerance than P. abrotanoides.

Changes in Essential Oil Composition, Polyphenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Capacity of Ajowan (Trachyspermum ammi L.) Populations in Response to Water Deficit

Gita Mirniyam et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the seed yield, essential oil constituents, polyphenolic composition, and antioxidant capacity of ajowan populations under different water irrigation regimes. The results showed that water stress significantly reduced both essential oil and seed yield. Different populations of ajowan also exhibited variations in chemical composition and antioxidant capacity.
