The dependence of Cu2O morphology on different surfactants and its application for non-enzymatic glucose detection

Wenbin Liu et al.

Summary: Cu2O yolk-shell nanospheres, nanocubes, and microcubes were successfully prepared via a seed-medium process and applied in non-enzymatic glucose detection. The electrodes modified with CTAB and SDBS as surfactants exhibited high sensitivity and low LOD, demonstrating good selectivity and stability. These electrodes have potential for practical applications due to their excellent sensing ability in real serum.

Non-enzymatic glucose detection based on cuprous oxide thin film synthesized via electrochemical deposition

Samiha Laidoudi et al.

Summary: In this study, a non-enzymatic glucose sensor was proposed with considerable sensitivity and cost-effectiveness, using an electrodeposited Cu2O/ITO electrode for glucose detection in alkaline medium. The developed electrochemical sensor showed high sensitivity, low detection limit, good anti-interfering ability, and high stability, making it a promising tool for glucose detection.

Facet-Dependent Cu2O Electrocatalysis for Wearable Enzyme-Free Smart Sensing

Yu Jiang et al.

Summary: Recent developments in utilizing electrocatalysis for wearable enzyme-free biosensors and biofuel cells have shown that facet-controlled cuprous oxide nanostructures, particularly cuboctahedral Cu2O with a hollow structure, exhibit optimal sensing performance for glucose detection. The facet-dependent sensing process reveals that Cu2O{100} and Cu2O{111} facets are beneficial in improving interaction with enzyme-free substrates and accelerating electron transfer.
