The majority of studies included in the review reported acceptable accuracy and suggested that the procedure can be cost-effective. However, due to the lack of randomized controlled trials, the current evidence is not strong enough to recommend the widespread use of surgical cutting guides and customised/pre-bent plates in orthognathic surgery.
