The effects of support morphology on the performance of Pt/CeO2 catalysts for the low temperature steam reforming of ethanol

Marios Kourtelesis et al.

Summary: A study was conducted on Pt/CeO2 catalysts with different support morphologies for low temperature ethanol steam reforming, revealing that support morphology influences certain reaction routes, while the reaction scheme remains the same regardless of the support. At 573K, Pt/CeO2- PPT exhibited rapid deactivation, while Pt/CeO2- NR remained rather stable. XPS surface analysis showed significant Pt reduction on CeO2 nanorods at 573K, leading to the reduction of Ce4+ into Ce3+.

How the Morphology of NiOx-Decorated CeO2 Nanostructures Affects Catalytic Properties in CO2 Methanation

Naoki Hashimoto et al.

Summary: The study found that the nanorod structure of NiOx-decorated CeO2 nanostructured catalysts exhibited superior CO2 methanation activity and CH4 selectivity, as well as exceptional durability compared to nanocube and nanooctahedron structures. The high performance of NiCeO2-NR was attributed to a large quantity of surface oxygen vacancies and the high degree of reversibility associated with the Ce4+ <-> Ce3+ redox cycle of the support.

Nb2O5 as a radical modulator during oxidative dehydrogenation and as a Lewis acid promoter in CO2 assisted dehydrogenation of octane over confined 2D engineered NiO-Nb2O5-Al2O3

Majid D. Farahani et al.

Summary: Mesoporous 2D NiO-Nb2O5-Al2O3 nanorods were prepared via glycol-thermal synthesis for direct conversion of octane to octenes with high selectivity and conversion rate. The addition of Nb2O5 modified the confinement effect and metal support interaction, leading to optimal performance of the catalyst in the reaction process.
