Self-Polymerization of Monomer and Induced Interactions with Perovskite for Highly Performed and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

Ruiman Ma et al.

Summary: The addition of DMAEMA in the formation of perovskites has been shown to improve the efficiency and stability of PSCs, leading to improved crystallinity and decreased defects density in the film. New interactions between Pb2+ and DMAEMA, and iodine and ternary amine contribute to enhanced uniformity and stability of the perovskites. The inverted PSCs with DMAEMA exhibit higher open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, fill factor, and PCE, while also significantly improving stability.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

On the wrong assignment of the XPS O1s signal at 531-532 eV attributed to oxygen vacancies in photo- and electro-catalysts for water splitting and other materials applications

Hicham Idriss

Summary: The XPS O1s signal mistakenly attributed to oxygen vacancies is actually due to the adsorption of water molecules on the oxide surface under ambient conditions. Surface oxygen vacancies in binary or mixed metal oxide materials or catalysts will be oxidized instantly due to the strong adsorption energy of water, making it impossible for ex-situ measurements.

Reducing Surface Recombination Velocity of Methylammonium-Free Mixed-Cation Mixed-Halide Perovskites via Surface Passivation

Sarthak Jariwala et al.

Summary: By passivating nonradiative defects with APTMS, we controlled surface recombination in mixed-cation, mixed-halide perovskite, achieving high external photoluminescence quantum efficiencies and long minority carrier lifetimes. Our study suggests that surface passivation and contact engineering can enable near-theoretical device efficiencies with these materials, addressing nonradiative loss pathways in mixed-cation mixed-halide films.
