Botrytis cinerea Loss and Restoration of Virulence during In Vitro Culture Follows Flux in Global DNA Methylation

James Breen et al.

Summary: This study analyzed DNA methylation patterns in the plant pathogen B. cinerea during long-term culture and found differential methylation associated with virulence erosion. The results suggest that changes in DNA methylation may contribute to the modification of virulence in B. cinerea and offer potential strategies for controlling pathogen virulence.
