In silico designing of a multi-epitope vaccine against Burkholderia pseudomallei: reverse vaccinology and immunoinformatics

Muhammad Shahab et al.

Summary: In this study, an in silico approach was used to design a multi-epitope subunit vaccine peptide for Burkholderia pseudomallei, a drug-resistant infectious agent causing severe melioidosis. The designed vaccine was found to be antigenic, soluble, stable, nonallergenic, and capable of stimulating humoral and cell-mediated immune responses. In silico immune simulations showed promising results, suggesting that this approach could be a breakthrough in designing effective vaccines against B. pseudomallei globally.

In silico analysis of epitope-based vaccine candidate against tuberculosis using reverse vaccinology

Shaheen Bibi et al.

Summary: The researchers developed a universal TB vaccine using advanced computational techniques. They selected conserved and experimentally confirmed Mtb antigens to design a novel multi-epitope subunit vaccine, and predicted different B-cell and T-cell epitopes. A promising candidate for a tuberculosis vaccine, the vaccine may activate humoral and cellular immune responses, but further experimental validations are needed.

Immunogenic T cell epitopes of SARS-CoV-2 are recognized by circulating memory and naive CD8 T cells of unexposed individuals

Isaac Quiros-Fernandez et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown evidence of cross-reactive CD8 T cells in non-exposed individuals to SARS-CoV-2, which can stabilize HLA molecules and activate CD8 T cells in healthy unexposed subjects. The reactive cells were found in naive, memory, and effector subsets, indicating a diverse T cell response in individuals without previous exposure to the virus.
