In-situ growth of Co3O4 nanoparticles based on electrospray for an acetone gas sensor

Sensor array and gas chromatographic detection of the blood serum volatolomic signature of COVID-19

Summary: This study demonstrates that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in blood serum can accurately distinguish COVID-19 patients, providing a new method for disease diagnosis. The analysis of more than 100 different VOCs showed that the pattern of abundances of 17 compounds could identify COVID-19 from non-COVID with an accuracy of 89%. The combination of GC/MS analysis and gas sensor array achieved an accuracy of 89% in distinguishing COVID-19 patients.

Detection of the bacteria concentration level in pasteurized milk by using two different artificial multisensory methods

Summary: This paper describes the successful detection and classification of Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, and Klebsiella pneumoniae in pasteurized milk using an E-nose and E-tongue, which both achieved comparable results. The E-tongue with a gold electrode demonstrated a high success rate in discriminating decreasing concentrations of E. coli in the milk.

Summary: Electrohydrodynamic Jet Printing (EHD) is capable of printing sub-micron structures with various materials, showing promising results in compared to traditional additive manufacturing techniques. By using EHD to print polyaniline-based chemiresistors, researchers achieved high detection sensitivity for ammonia gas sensors on both glass and flexible substrates. The study also highlighted the importance of dopant acids in polymer structure and sensing, paving the way for further development of miniaturized flexible polymer sensors.

TiO2 Nanowires for Humidity-Stable Gas Sensors for Toluene and Xylene

Summary: The study demonstrates temperature-dependent selectivity and stability towards CO, C7H8, and C8H10 by synthesizing various TiO2 nanostructures, with TiO2 nanowires exhibiting dual-selectivity functionality towards C7H8 and C8H10, as well as higher surface area and interconnected pore distribution compared to TiO2 nanoparticles. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed the tetragonal structure of anatase TiO2, while surface studies revealed different morphologies with TiO2 nanowires showing the highest concentration of oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ which influenced its dual-selectivity functionality.
