Multi-Kernel Relevance Vector Machine With Parameter Optimization for Cycling Aging Prediction of Lithium-Ion Batteries

Bo Jiang et al.

Summary: A reliable cycling aging prediction model based on data-driven methods is proposed in this study to address the adaptive and early prediction of lithium-ion battery remaining useful life. The model utilizes a multi-kernel RVM with particle swarm optimization to enhance learning and generalization abilities. A similarity criterion of battery capacity curves is proposed for early life prediction. Experimental results demonstrate the accurate prediction of failure cycle and capacity attenuation trajectory for different types of batteries, as well as the ability to learn general fading characteristics from other battery types.

Electrochemical-Theory-Guided Modeling of the Conditional Generative Adversarial Network for Battery Calendar Aging Forecast

Tianyu Hu et al.

Summary: In this article, a generative adversarial network-based (GAN-based) model called Capacit Forecast GAN (CFGAN) is proposed for the forecast of battery calendar aging. CFGAN utilizes electrochemical knowledge to design its crucial part, the conditioner, to maintain consistency between knowledge and data, improving its theoretical strength and forecast performance significantly. Results from practical case studies demonstrate the superiority of CFGAN in forecasting and generalization to unseen conditions, indicating its ability to capture the complex multimodality of the condition-varying calendar aging process.
