Water, as an abundant and non-toxic chemical reagent, is highly attractive in organic synthesis from the perspective of green chemistry. This minireview summarizes recent advances in the application of water as a green solvent, hydrogen source, and oxygen source based on selected examples between 2021 and 2022.
Water as an abundant natural source is also an easily available and non-toxic chemical reagent. From the viewpoint of green chemistry, the application of water in organic synthesis is highly attractive. In this minireview, the recent advances in the application of water as a green solvent, as a hydrogen source, and as an oxygen source are summarized based on the selected examples between 2021 to 2022.
