Soluble and Perfluorinated Polyelectrolyte for Safe and High-Performance Li-O2 Batteries

Summary: In this study, a lithiated Nafion (LN) electrolyte was designed to enhance the performance of high-capacity Li-O-2 batteries by addressing the issues of Li dendrite growth and concentration polarization. LN electrolyte achieved high Li+ transfer number and conductivity, while also protecting the Li anode from dendrite growth. The Li-O-2 battery with LN electrolyte demonstrated low charge overpotential, large discharge capacity, excellent cycling performance, and satisfactory safety for powering electronic equipment.

The Fe species are identified as the real active sites, and S vacancies play a role in enhancing the NRR process. Vs-FePS3 NSs can also serve as the cathode of a Zn-N-2 battery with a power density of 2.6 mW cm(-2).

Molecular Crowding Effect in Aqueous Electrolytes to Suppress Hydrogen Reduction Reaction and Enhance Electrochemical Nitrogen Reduction

Significantly improved NRR activity was achieved on a TiO2 nanoarray electrode in PEG-containing acidic electrolytes, with NH3 Faraday efficiency of 32.13% and yield of 1.07 mu mol center dot cm(-2)center dot h(-1), 9.4-times and 3.5-times higher than those in pure acidic electrolytes.
