Electrolyte based on laser-generated nano-garnet in poly(ethylene oxide) for solid-state lithium metal batteries

Yanxia Su et al.

Summary: In this study, a liquid-phase laser manufacturing method was used to in-situ generate nano LLZTO with an average size of 8.3 nm in a polymer matrix. Embedding 2.0 wt% of nano LLZTO led to an order of magnitude enhancement in Li+ conductivity, along with reduced dendrite growth, improved interface stability, and increased tensile strength. The solid-state batteries incorporating PEO-based electrolyte embedded with nano LLZTO demonstrated stable cycling performances.
