Flow cytometric analysis of equine bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells in horses with and without severe equine asthma

Heng Kang et al.

Summary: This study tested antibodies against CD90, CD163, and CD206 to identify cells involved in the pathogenesis of SEA in horses. A flow cytometric assay was developed to detect leukocytes in equine BALF. Increased expression of CD163 and CD206 on AMs in the SEA-susceptible group during exacerbation suggested an association with lung inflammation.
