It found that a higher level of executive function (EF) was significantly associated with increased sleep time and decreased sedentary time in the intervention group. Aging is a major risk factor for cognitive impairment and dementia, but aerobic physical activity shows promise in improving memory and executive function in sedentary adults without cognitive impairment. Studies found a large effect size for memory and a small effect size for executive function in sedentary adults who engaged in aerobic physical activity interventions.
