Assessing Molecular Diversity in Native and Introduced Populations of Red Wood Ant Formica paralugubris

Alberto Masoni et al.

Summary: Red wood ants are ecologically dominant ant species that play key roles in boreal forest ecosystems. The genetic variability and structure of introduced and native populations of F. paralugubris were compared, and it was found that the introduced populations had higher genetic variability.
