Influence of supplementary materials on the early age hydration reactions and microstructural progress of magnesium phosphate cement matrices

M. Aminul Haque et al.

Summary: The microstructures of magnesium phosphate cement (MPC) compounds are porous, which limits their application in water structures. The use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) can improve the solidity of microstructures and reduce hydration heat release and setting time. The introduction of SCMs also results in the formation of different intermediate crystals in the microstructures of MPC. The addition of SCMs significantly improves the structural integrity of the samples.

Feasibility analysis of magnesium phosphate cement as a repair material for base slab of China railway track system II ballastless track

Hailou Jiang et al.

Summary: This study proposed using magnesium phosphate cement (MPC) to repair the base slab of the Chinese ballastless railway track. The laminated members were subjected to static and fatigue bending tests, and the results showed that the damage was primarily caused by bending and shear at the interface. Fatigue test results indicated that the stress level on the base slab was below the endurance limit, and microscopic tests revealed the crucial role of the bond between Portland cement and MPC in the repair process.

Value-added utilization of copper slag to enhance the performance of magnesium potassium phosphate cement

Zengqi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a high value-added utilization approach of copper slag to enhance the early performance of magnesium potassium phosphate cement (MPC). The experimental results show that the addition of copper slag can significantly increase the early compressive strength of MPC mortar, and the crystalline phases in copper slag can react with hydrates in the MPC system, increasing their content.

Magnesium Potassium Phosphate Cement-Based Derivatives for Construction Use: Experimental Assessment

Simon Marusiak et al.

Summary: The research focuses on the development and testing of magnesium potassium phosphate cement-based materials (MKPC-based). Fresh state properties and hydration process were investigated by varying the borax content. A mixture with 5 wt.% of borax was chosen as the binder for further mortar development. By replacing quartz sand with lightweight aggregates, the resulting composites showed improved thermal efficiency and water permeability while maintaining sufficient strength.

Characteristic, hazard and iron recovery technology of red mud-A critical review

Xiao Liu et al.

Summary: This paper systematically reviews the iron recovery methods for high-iron RM, dividing them into physical separation, pyrometallurgy (reduction smelting and reduction roasting), and hydrometallurgy (acid leaching). The basic principles and effects of these technologies are summarized, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. Feasibility and economic cost are identified as main factors restricting industrial application.
