Thirty-day readmission rates, reasons, and costs for gastrointestinal angiodysplasia-related bleeding in the USA

Ahmad Khan et al.

Summary: The study found that one in five patients hospitalized with GI-related bleeding was readmitted within 30 days of index hospitalization, placing a heavy economic burden on the healthcare system. Patients with multiple comorbidities, longer length of stay, and end-stage renal disease were found to be independent predictors for 30-day readmissions.

Endocuff-assisted push enteroscopy increases the detection of proximal small-bowel gastrointestinal angiodysplasias

Christian S. Jackson et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the detection of gastrointestinal angiodysplasias (GIADs) using device-assisted enteroscopy (DAE) with the Endocuff (EC) device. The results show that the detection rate of GIADs is higher with PE + EC compared to PE alone. Additionally, a positive correlation between the location of GIADs observed via capsule enteroscopy (CE) and small bowel transit time (SBTT) was found.
