Monoclonal Antibody Functionalized, and L-lysine α-Oxidase Loaded PEGylated-Chitosan Nanoparticle for HER2/Neu Targeted Breast Cancer Therapy

Kandasamy Saravanakumar et al.

Summary: This study developed a dual stimuli responsive nanocarrier system for the treatment of HER2+ breast cancer. The nanocarrier demonstrated promising selectivity and cytotoxicity against HER2+ breast cancer cells. The biocompatibility of the nanocarrier was confirmed in mice, and it was shown to inhibit tumor growth through altering oxidative stress.

Preparation and Evaluation of Poly(lactic acid)/Poly(vinyl alcohol) Nanoparticles Using the Quality by Design Approach

Meliha Ekinci et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to develop poly(lactic acid)/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PLA/PVA) nanoparticle formulations for drug delivery system, which were successfully prepared by the double emulsification/solvent evaporation method. The optimized formulation containing 12.5% PLA, 1% primer, and seconder PVA showed suitable particle size, good distribution, high preparation efficiency, and stability up to 12 months. This novel formulation has the potential to be used as an effective drug delivery system.

Dual Encapsulated Dacarbazine and Zinc Phthalocyanine Polymeric Nanoparticle for Photodynamic Therapy of Melanoma

Sara Rhaissa Rezende do Reis et al.

Summary: This study presents a robust nanoparticle formulation aiming to harness the synergistic effects of chemo and photodynamic therapies to potentially overcome drug resistance and reduce side effects associated with Dacarbazine. The data confirms that dual-encapsulated NPs exhibit superior in-vitro efficacy compared to individual compounds. The results advocate for the necessity of a dual modality NP formulation for melanoma therapy by combining chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy.

Preliminary studies on drug delivery of polymeric primaquine microparticles using the liver high uptake effect based on size of particles to improve malaria treatment

Aline Oliveira da Silva de Barros et al.

Summary: Malaria is a common parasitic disease worldwide, especially in tropical regions. Current treatments for malaria, such as Artesunate and Artemisinin, have limitations, but Polymeric Primaquine Microparticles (PPM) show potential as a therapeutic strategy for malaria. Additional research is needed to further improve the efficacy of this drug delivery system.
