Summary: This study designed stable AgNPs that are resistant to surface oxidation and Ag+ ion release. Toxicity studies revealed size- and concentration-dependent effects of AgNPs, with smaller nanoparticle sizes leading to increased mortality and sublethal morphological abnormalities. This study provided valuable insights into the impact of AgNP size on toxicity in the absence of Ag+ ions.
