Role of sugar and auxin crosstalk in plant growth and development

Bhuwaneshwar Sharan Mishra et al.

Summary: In the natural environment, plants utilize sugar molecules and phytohormones to coordinate growth and survival, affecting physiological processes from seed germination to senescence. Sugars not only serve as energy resources and structural components but also function as signaling molecules interacting with plant hormones, stress, and other pathways. Phytohormone auxin plays a crucial role in various stages of the plant life cycle and response to dynamic environments for optimal growth and development.

Synthesis of Organic Iodine Compounds in Sweetcorn under the Influence of Exogenous Foliar Application of Iodine and Vanadium

Marlena Grzanka et al.

Summary: A diverse and nutrient-rich diet is essential for the proper functioning of the human body. Malnutrition, also known as hidden hunger, is a global problem affecting both poor and developed countries. Iodine, a crucial nutrient for humans and animals, is considered a beneficial or even a microelement for plants. The combination of iodine and vanadium has been found to increase iodine accumulation in grains, while the use of organic iodine compounds decreases iodine accumulation. Vanadium also stimulates the accumulation/synthesis of certain substances and reduces the content of others. Additionally, vanadium increases sugar content in grains.
