Effect of three water-regimes on morpho-physiological, biochemical and yield responses of local and foreign olive cultivars under field conditions

Rahmatollah Gholami et al.

Summary: Drought stress has significant negative effects on the growth and yield of olive trees. Selecting drought-resistant olive cultivars is an effective strategy to mitigate the impact of drought. This study found that Dezful and Konservolia cultivars exhibited the best adaptive mechanisms to cope with drought stress.

Melatonin alleviates drought impact on growth and essential oil yield of lemon verbena by enhancing antioxidant responses, mineral balance, and abscisic acid content

Marjan Sadat Hosseini et al.

Summary: Melatonin application alleviated drought stress on lemon verbena, leading to improved growth and essential oil yield. Melatonin protected photosynthetic pigments, maintained mineral balance, and stimulated the accumulation of proline, soluble sugars, and abscisic acid to preserve leaf water status in drought-stressed plants. Melatonin also enhanced antioxidant activity and sustained essential oil concentrations and yield in lemon verbena leaves under drought conditions.

Yield and Fruit Quality of Strawberry Cultivars under Different Irrigation Regimes

Maria Teresa Ariza et al.

Summary: A two-year field experiment comparing the physiological and agronomical responses of six commercial strawberry cultivars to different water treatments revealed that certain cultivars were able to maintain high yields and water use efficiency even under drought conditions, contributing to water savings and enhancing the sustainability of strawberry production.
