Data-driven model for hydraulic fracturing design optimization. Part II: Inverse problem

V. M. Duplyakov et al.

Summary: This study developed a stacked model using a combination of Ridge Regression and CatBoost algorithms to predict cumulative fluid production for multistage-fracture completion oil wells. The model was based on an extensive digital field data base and demonstrated physically explainable dependencies plots of the target on the design parameters. Various methods were developed for selection of offset wells and optimization of fracturing design parameters, ultimately leading to a recommendation system for production stimulation engineers.

Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Characterization of Metakaolin Geopolymers Based on Orthogonal Tests

Shoushuai Dai et al.

Summary: Metakaolin was used as a raw material to prepare geopolymers using two types of alkali activators. The mechanical properties and microstructures of the geopolymers were analyzed. It was found that the mechanical properties of the geopolymers could be greatly improved by optimizing the alkaline solution concentration and mass ratios of Na2SiO3/MOH and alkali exciter to metakaolin. The K-based geopolymer exhibited better mechanical properties.

Data-driven multi-objective optimization design method for shale gas fracturing parameters

Lian Wang et al.

Summary: The study proposed a framework for optimizing shale gas fracturing parameters based on LSSVR prediction model and NSGA-II algorithm, named MOO-PM. It is the first time that LSSVR prediction model and multi-objective method are applied simultaneously to optimize shale gas fracturing parameters, providing higher accuracy and efficiency. The novel multi-objective optimization framework was successfully applied to data from shale gas reservoirs in Sichuan basin, southwest China.
