Changes in Serum Creatinine Levels Can Help Distinguish Hypovolemic from Euvolemic Hyponatremia

Summary: This study aimed to determine whether changes in serum creatinine can be helpful in distinguishing hypovolemic hyponatremia from euvolemic hyponatremia. The results showed that during hyponatremia, serum creatinine levels increased in the hypovolemic hyponatremia group and decreased in the euvolemic hyponatremia group. By analyzing the increment of serum creatinine, it is possible to differentiate between the two types of hyponatremia.

Unique phylogenetic clusters of SARS-CoV-2 were identified among locally acquired cases, with majority of genomes belonging to the HK1 cluster, which is related to SARS-CoV-2 strains reported overseas.

Hyponatremia is associated with poor outcome in COVID-19

Nonsynonymous mutations at the helicase gene were commonly found within the B.1.1.63 and B.1.36.27 lineages. Importantly, a single lineage with low-level local transmission played a key role in the fourth wave outbreak, possibly facilitated by a superspreading event or lower temperature in November.
