The presence of bradyzoite-specific gene transcription confirmed the encystment. This study expands previous findings of the parasite in semen of non-human host species and emphasizes the importance of further investigations into the potential sexual transmission of Toxoplasma gondii.

It is considered an efficient method for the diagnosis of active as well as reactivated toxoplasmosis.

We present a case of a patient with AIDS and toxoplasma encephalopathy, initially presenting with rapid progressive memory loss, misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis, and highlight the importance of accurate diagnosis.

A serological survey of Toxoplasma gondii in polish pigs from organic farms, other housing systems and in pigs of different age groups

Summary: This study investigated the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in pigs from different housing systems and farms with different hygiene standards in Poland. The results showed that pigs from organic and low-hygiene farms had a higher infection rate, as well as pigs aged 9 months and older. Meat from seropositive animals could potentially be a source of infection for humans. Serological examination is unnecessary for piglets aged up to 3-4 months due to the presence of maternal antibodies to T. gondii.
