Effectiveness of Lymphatic Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound in the diagnosis of Cervical Lymph node metastasis from papillary thyroid carcinoma

Ying Wei et al.

Summary: This study identified cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma through parenchyma injection and contrast enhanced ultrasound. Perfusion defect and interruption of bright ring were identified as the characteristic signs for diagnosing cervical lymph node metastasis and were correlated with pathology.

Value of Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in the Preoperative Evaluation of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma Invasiveness

Lei Chen et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of preoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in detecting extracapsular extension (ECE) and cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM) of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and the added value of CEUS compared to conventional ultrasound (US) in evaluating PTC invasiveness. The results showed that the combination of US and CEUS had higher diagnostic accuracy and is recommended for the detection of ECE and LNM of PTC. CEUS plays an important role in the preoperative evaluation of PTC invasiveness.

Ultrasound lymphatic imaging for the diagnosis of metastatic central lymph nodes in papillary thyroid cancer

Zhenhua Liu et al.

Summary: The aim of this study is to develop a lymphatic imaging technique using ultrasonography for improved detection of lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid cancer patients. The sensitivity of detecting positive targeted nodes significantly increased with the ultrasound lymphatic imaging method. Surgical results also showed a positive correlation between the degree of metastasis and an increase in the score.
