EZR-ROS1 fusion renal cell carcinoma mimicking urothelial carcinoma: report of a previously undescribed gene fusion in renal cell carcinoma

Antic Tatjana et al.

Summary: A subset of renal cell carcinomas harbor gene fusions, and the EZR-ROS1 fusion was reported for the first time in this case. Recognition of this fusion is significant for potential metastatic treatment with crizotinib.

The rapidly evolving landscape of novel targeted therapies in advanced non-small cell lung cancer

Barbara Melosky et al.

Summary: Lung cancer is a highly heterogeneous disease driven by well-characterized driver mutations, with rapid advances in molecular characterization leading to the development of novel therapeutics targeting various oncogenic alterations. Multiple new targeted treatment options have emerged, with promising outcomes leading to FDA approval for several novel agents in advanced NSCLC.

Case Report: Detection of Double ROS1 Translocations, SDC4-ROS1 and ROS1-GK, in a Lung Adenocarcinoma Patient and Response to Crizotinib

Long Xu et al.

Summary: This case report highlights a NSCLC patient with dual ROS1 fusions SDC4-ROS1 and ROS1-GK, who showed partial response to crizotinib but developed a brain lesion possibly related to ROS1-GK rearrangement. Further large-scale investigations are needed to evaluate the efficacy of ROS1 inhibitors in patients with complex ROS1 fusions.
