Probing Atomistic Behavior To Unravel Dielectric Phenomena in Charge Transfer Cocrystals

Rohit Bhowal et al.

Summary: Six new binary charge-transfer (CT) cocrystals were synthesized using a solvent drop-assisted mechanochemical grinding method, showing remarkable color changes during the grinding process. The cocrystals exhibited diverse dielectric response in alternating electric fields, with potential high permittivity due to the nature and strength of CT interactions. The introduction of rotational dynamics in noncentrosymmetric molecules significantly enhanced their dielectric properties, suggesting a wide range of potential applications in materials science for D-A-based organic CT systems with mixed stacks.

Understanding the sodium-ion dynamics in NASICON (Na3Al2P3O12) glass containing NaF: Scaling of electrical conductivity spectra

Indrajeet Mandal et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of substituting NaF for Al2O3 on the conductivity of Na3Al2P3O12 (NAP) glass, revealing a significant impact of NaF concentration on the conductivity of NAP glass, which is highly dependent on a specific temperature range. Raman spectra and impedance spectra show changes in the coordination of Al3+ and the distribution of sodium cations, as well as variations in conductivity with NaF concentration. Time-temperature scaling analysis indicates different ion conduction mechanisms at varying NaF concentrations in the glass samples.

Ionic Conductivity of Na3Al2P3O12 Glass Electrolytes Role of Charge Compensators

Shweta R. Keshri et al.

Summary: The mobility of sodium ions in glasses is crucial for ionic conductivity, which can be enhanced by substituting Si for P in Si0 glass to increase the number of charge-compensated bridging oxygens. The increased ionic conductivity in Na3Al2P3O12 (Si0) glass material is attributed to the enhanced connectivity of Na-rich channels due to the increased number of charge-compensated bridging oxygens around the Na atoms, providing insights for designing glass-based electrolytes with superior ionic conductivity for Na-ion batteries.
