The catalytic mechanism of CO2 electrochemical reduction over transition metal-modified 1T'-MoS2 monolayers

Yaoyao Linghu et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the catalytic mechanisms of transition metal-modified 1T'-MoS2 monolayers in the reduction of CO2 to CH4 and HCOOH. It is found that Ru@1T'-MoS2 and Pt@1T'-MoS2 show potential for catalyzing CO2 reduction to CH4 and CH3OH, while Re@1T'-MoS2 and Zn@1T'-MoS2 are considered promising catalysts for HCOOH generation.

An active MoS2 with Pt-doping and sulfur vacancy for strengthen CO2 adsorption and fast Capture: A DFT approach

Yue Du et al.

Summary: In this study, MoS2_1V(S)_1Pt(Mo) was constructed to enhance carbon dioxide adsorption on MoS2. DFT calculations showed that MoS2_1V(S)_1Pt(Mo) effectively broke the transport barrier between MoS2 surface and CO2 molecules. S vacancies and Pt atoms acted as electron transport bridges, transferring electrons to CO2 molecules. The adsorption energy of CO2 in MoS2_1V(S)_1Pt(Mo) was higher than that in MoS2_1V(S) and MoS2_1Pt(Mo), indicating that sulfur vacancies and Pt doping significantly enhanced the CO2 adsorption performance.

Single Rh Adatoms Stabilized on alpha-Fe2O3 (1(1)over-bar02) by Coadsorbed Water

Florian Kraushofer et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that high densities of single Rh adatoms can be stabilized on the alpha-Fe2O3 surface in the presence of water, in contrast to rapid sintering observed under UHV conditions. The importance of OH ligands in the stability of single atoms is highlighted, suggesting that their presence should be considered when modeling single-atom catalysis systems.
