Activated carbon with ultrahigh surface area derived from sawdust biowaste for the removal of rhodamine B in water

Van Hoang Nguyen et al.

Summary: In this study, activated carbon with an ultra-high surface area was fabricated from sawdust by simple, one-step chemical activation. The sawdust activated carbon exhibited a high and rapid removal efficiency toward Rhodamine B, with a removal percentage of nearly 100% after 10 min at an RhB concentration of 10 ppm. The effect of the pH solution on RhB removal performance by sawdust activated carbon showed that the sAC absorbed more than 90% of the RhB in all the pH at room temperature solutions.

Removal of Rhodamine B from aqueous solution by stalk corn activated carbon: adsorption and kinetic study

Seyyed Alireza Mousavi et al.

Summary: In this study, activated carbon prepared from stalk corn was proven to be an effective and economical adsorbent for removing Rhodamine B dye from aqueous solutions. The optimal conditions for adsorption were found to be a pH of 3 and an adsorbent dosage of 2.5 g L-1, with the Freundlich isotherm model fitting well with the experimental data. The maximum adsorption capacity achieved was 5.6 mg g(-1), and the adsorption of Rhodamine B followed pseudo-second-order kinetics.
