Chemokine production induced by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis in a murine model

Thiago Doria Barral et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the induction of chemokine production by two strains of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis in a murine model. The highly pathogenic strain had a higher ability to stimulate the production of chemokines, especially in the early stages of stimulation. Additionally, the lysate antigen of the attenuated strain was found to be more effective in stimulating chemokine production compared to other antigenic fractions.

The Potential Role of Growth Differentiation Factor 15 in COVID-19: A Corollary Subjective Effect or Not?

Ahmad O. Babalghith et al.

Summary: COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 variants and is characterized by hyperinflammation, oxidative stress, multi-organ injury, acute lung injury, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. GDF15, a potential biomarker, plays a vital role in controlling cell growth, apoptosis, and inflammatory activation. Higher expression of GDF15 in COVID-19 may be a compensatory mechanism against dysregulated inflammatory reactions.

Role of Neuropilin 1 in COVID-19 Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke

Asma W. Al-Thomali et al.

Summary: Infection with SARS-CoV-2 can lead to inflammatory reactions and tissue damage, as well as thromboembolic disorders that increase the risk of stroke in COVID-19 patients. Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) may play a role in the pathogenesis of stroke in these patients, as it is involved in SARS-CoV-2 entry into the brain. NRP-1 has the potential to attenuate neuroinflammation and other neurological disorders in COVID-19.
