Summary: This study evaluated the role of shear wave elastography (SWE) and B-mode ultrasound in predicting nodal metastasis in breast cancer patients. The results showed that metastatic lymph nodes were stiffer than reactive nodes on SWE, and Emax (cortex) had the best diagnostic performance. Combining Emax (cortex) with cortical thickness increased the specificity for diagnosing metastasis.

Factors such as cortical thickness, blood flow grade, blood flow type, and elasticity score had a significant impact on axillary lymph node metastasis in breast cancer. UE was proven effective in diagnosing lymph node properties and evaluating lymph node metastasis, making it clinically valuable and deserving of widespread use.
