Evaluation of the dosimetric and radiobiological parameters in four radiotherapy regimens for synchronous bilateral breast cancer

Sang-Won Kang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the optimal treatment option for synchronous bilateral breast cancer (SBBC) by comparing different treatment techniques and isocenter conditions. The results showed that IMRT with a single isocenter had better organ sparing and some radiobiological improvement compared to other techniques. Although it had lower delivery efficiency, the overall treatment time only increased by 22%.

Summary: The study found that replacing FF beams with FFF beams significantly improved the effectiveness of lung SBRT treatment plans, increasing target coverage and reducing radiation doses to organs at risk.
