Pimozide inhibits the growth of breast cancer cells by alleviating the Warburg effect through the P53 signaling pathway

Summary: In this study, it was found that Pimozide inhibits the Warburg effect in breast cancer cells by hindering glucose uptake, ATP production, and lactate production. Mechanistically, Pimozide mediates the p53 signaling pathway through PI3K/Akt/MDM2, thereby suppressing the expression of PKM2 and reprogramming glucose metabolism in breast cancer cells.

Summary: The combination of Andrographis paniculata and OPCs shows enhanced anti-cancer activity in colorectal cancer by inhibiting cancer cell growth, suppressing colony formation and inducing apoptosis. Transcriptomic profiling reveals involvement of metabolic pathways and ferroptosis-associated genes that contribute to the increased anti-tumorigenic activity of these compounds.
