Alternative Splicing in Cancer and Immune Cells

Antoine Bernard et al.

Summary: This article presents the role and mechanism of alternative splicing in cancer cells and immune cells. Alternative splicing is an important mechanism that can generate multiple proteins from a single gene. In normal cells, alternative splicing is involved in the regulation of cellular behavior. However, in cancer, alternative splicing is dysregulated and contributes to the characteristics of tumor cells.

Evidence for mitochondrial Lonp1 expression in the nucleus

Lara Gibellini et al.

Summary: Coordinated communication between mitochondria and the nucleus is crucial for cellular activities. Recent research has found that the protease Lonp1, previously believed to be exclusively located in the mitochondria, is also present in the nucleus and plays a role in the stress response.

Alternative splicing in Alzheimer's disease

Giuseppe Biamonti et al.

Summary: Alzheimer's disease is the most common neurodegenerative disorder in the elderly, with approximately 20% of people over 80 affected. Recent studies have shown that Alternative Splicing is involved in gene expression reprogramming and splicing abnormalities in AD tissues. While the molecular causes of AD are still poorly understood, therapeutic approaches targeting aberrant AS regulation offer potential new treatments.
