mlr3proba: an R package for machine learning in survival analysis

Raphael Sonabend et al.

Summary: With the increasing popularity of machine learning, the importance of survival analysis in fields like medicine, bioinformatics, economics, and engineering has become more evident. However, there is a lack of machine-learning interfaces specifically designed for survival analysis. mlr3proba fills this gap by providing a comprehensive interface for survival analysis, connecting with mlr3's general model tuning and benchmarking facilities to create a systematic infrastructure for survival modeling and evaluation.

Mutational profiles of metastatic colorectal cancer treated with FOLFIRI plus cetuximab or bevacizumab before and after secondary resection (AIO KRK 0306; FIRE-3)

Arndt Stahler et al.

Summary: The study found that patients with mCRC who received cetuximab had higher objective response rate and overall survival. New mutations were observed in 18 patients after conversion therapy. Changes during cetuximab treatment were mainly gains, while losses were mainly observed during bevacizumab treatment.

Development and validation of a robust epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related prognostic signature for hepatocellular carcinoma

Shimin Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a prognostic signature based on EMT-related genes was developed and validated for predicting HCC survival. The signature showed good predictive value and was identified as an independent risk factor for HCC. Furthermore, a SVM classifier based on the identified genes demonstrated excellent diagnostic performance in differentiating early HCC from normal tissues.
