Comparison of PMT-based TF64 and SiPM-based Vereos PET/CT systems for 90Y imaging and dosimetry optimization: A quantitative study

Nicola Trotta et al.

Summary: This study aimed to optimize the dosimetry of patients treated with Y-90 transarterial radioembolization by using PET imaging and personalized dosimetry software. The SiPM-based PET/CT scanner showed superior performance compared to the photomultiplier tube-based scanner. By applying the optimized parameters, accurate images were generated for improved personalized dosimetry, ensuring reliable evaluation of the delivered doses.

Safety and efficacy of repeat Y90 radioembolization to the same hepatic arterial territory

Wali Badar et al.

Summary: Repeat TARE with glass microspheres is an effective and safe treatment strategy for disease management in patients with residual or recurrent disease to the similar hepatic arterial territories without any major treatment related toxicity. This study demonstrates that repeat treatment to the same hepatic arterial territory is as safe as single treatment to the same territory.

Experience with regorafenib in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma

Alessandro Granito et al.

Summary: Regorafenib, structurally similar to sorafenib, shows significant survival advantage in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients who failed first-line treatment, by targeting angiogenic and tumor growth-promoting pathways, inhibiting tumor neo-angiogenesis and proliferation, and modulating the tumor microenvironment. It is being explored for use in combination therapy with immune checkpoint blockade and for extended use in patient categories beyond registrative studies.
