Claudia Campani et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic role of alpha-foetoprotein (AFP) early response and its combination with albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with AtezoBev. Summary: This study investigated the clinical characteristics, outcome, and prognostic role of ALBI grade in dual HBV/HCV-related HCC. The study found that dual viral infection does not accelerate the development of HCC in HBV carriers, and patient survival is similar between dual HBV/HCV-related HCC and single HBV- or HCV-related HCC group. The ALBI grade is a robust prognostic model in dual virus-related HCC to discriminate patient long-term survival.

Summary: This study developed a new prognostic model, the TBS-ALBI system, based on tumor burden score (TBS) and albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) grade, to predict the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The TBS-ALBI system showed significant survival differences in different patient groups, and had the lowest corrected Akaike information criterion (AICc) and the highest homogeneity compared to other staging models. The system was consistently stable across different viral etiologies, cancer stages, and treatment strategies.
