Medicinal signaling cells niche in stromal vascular fraction from lipoaspirate and microfragmented counterpart

Lucija Zenic et al.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize medicinal signaling cells (MSC) from adipose tissue in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) and expand on previous findings. The results showed that microfragmented adipose tissue had a higher population of endothelial progenitors (EP) compared to leukocytes and supra-adventitial-adipose stromal cells (SA-ASC). The ratio of progenitor cells differed between male and female patients, with men showing a higher EP-pericyte and pericyte-SA-ASC ratio.
