Clinicopathological Characteristics of Plurihormonal Pituitary Adenoma

Ruoyu Shi et al.

Summary: The pathogenesis of plurihormonal pituitary adenoma (PPA) remains unclear, and the diagnostic criteria are inconsistent. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between clinical and pathological characteristics in PPA. The results showed that PPA accounted for 13% of all pituitary cases recorded in the same period, with a higher prevalence in women. Most patients presented with one endocrine manifestation, and examination of hormones on tumor culture supernatant was helpful for its diagnosis.

Pre-operative serum inflammation-based scores in patients with pituitary adenomas

Pedro Marques et al.

Summary: The study found that there are differences in blood parameters and inflammation-based scores between patients with Cushing's disease and other PA subtypes, indicating a more prominent inflammatory response in Cushing's disease. Different types of PA patients show variations in blood parameters, and inflammation-based scores may help predict the severity of the disease.

Baseline Serum C-Reactive Protein and Plasma Fibrinogen-Based Score in the Prediction of Survival in Glioblastoma

Johannes Wach et al.

Summary: The study examines a score based on baseline CRP and fibrinogen values in GBM patients and finds that a high FC score is associated with shortened overall survival. This score could serve as an independent predictor of OS in GBM, highlighting the importance of further investigating the role of inflammation in prognosis prediction.

Nomogram predictive model of post-operative recurrence in non-functioning pituitary adenoma

Wen Lyu et al.

Summary: This study focused on analyzing and predicting the possibility of post-operative recurrence in NFPA patients by investigating clinical factors leading to tumor recurrence and building a nomogram predictive model based on these risk factors. The results showed that age, tumor size, cavernous invasion, sphenoid sinus invasion, and surgical extension were significant factors affecting tumor recurrence in NFPA patients. The nomogram model developed in this study may assist neurosurgeons in predicting recurrence post-operatively and tailoring counseling for individual patients.

A Nomogram for Preoperatively Predicting the Ki-67 Index of a Pituitary Tumor: A Retrospective Cohort Study

Xiangming Cai et al.

Summary: The Ki-67 index is a useful indicator for predicting proliferation and aggressiveness in pituitary adenomas. This study developed and validated a predictive nomogram model to forecast Ki-67 index levels preoperatively in PAs. The nomogram included age, primary-recurrence subtype, maximum dimension, and prolactin as independent predictors associated with Ki-67 index levels, with stable predictive performance demonstrated in both the training and validation cohorts.
