Sacroiliac Joint Variation in Patients With Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament

Nguyen Tran Canh Tung et al.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study investigated the morphological changes in the sacroiliac (SI) joints in individuals with and without ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). It was found that SI joint ankylosis occurred more frequently in patients with OPLL compared to those without. The presence of multilevel ossification in OPLL was associated with a higher rate of SI joint degeneration and ankylosis.

Morphological characteristics of DISH in patients with OPLL and its association with high-sensitivity CRP: inflammatory DISH

Tran Canh Tung Nguyen et al.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize whether ectopic bone formations in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) are caused by inflammatory or degenerative processes. The results showed that the distributions of Flat and Jaggy types of bone formations varied in different thoracic regions, and serum high-sensitivity CRP levels were associated with different types of bone formations.

Analysis of intervertebral disc degeneration in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament

Xi Luo et al.

Summary: In patients with cervical OPLL, the specific ossification thickness is negatively correlated with disc signal loss, and positively correlated with specific disc height. Patients with ossification not crossing the intervertebral space have smaller ossification thickness and disc height, but higher grade of disc signal loss and ROM.
