Serum Levels of N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Gestational Hypertension, Mild Preeclampsia, and Severe Preeclampsia: A Study from a Center in Zhejiang Province, China

Zhi Zheng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels and pre-eclampsia. It was found that serum NT-proBNP levels can serve as an effective indicator for predicting pre-eclampsia and assessing the risk of pre-eclampsia.

NT-proBNP levels in preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction as well as in the prediction on an imminent delivery

Paula Lafuente-Ganuza et al.

Summary: The study found that NT-proBNP levels are higher in early-onset preeclampsia compared to late-onset preeclampsia. Intrauterine growth restriction pregnancies showed NT-proBNP levels similar to hypertensive and unaffected pregnancies. Women with preterm preeclampsia might have altered left atrial segments. An NT-proBNP value >136 pg/mL has a high positive predictive value for imminent delivery within 10 days.
