Revisiting the gender job satisfaction paradox: The roots seem to run deep

Maryam Dilmaghani

Summary: Using the Canadian General Social Survey of 2016, this article estimates the gender job satisfaction gap and finds that women have higher job satisfaction in the aggregate sample, but the gap becomes statistically insignificant among the youngest and most educated workers when the sample is partitioned by age and educational attainment. Additionally, including subjectively experienced intrinsic job rewards eliminates the statistical significance of the gender job satisfaction gap across all age groups and educational attainment levels, except for those with a graduate university degree where the gap is reversed in favor of men.

Hearing healthcare for workers with hearing loss: audiologists' experiences and views

Margaret Zuriekat et al.

Summary: This study explored audiologists' perspectives on their interactions with workers with hearing loss, identifying deficiencies in hearing rehabilitation and proposing improvements such as meeting audiologists' information and training needs, facilitating patients' access to appointments, improving communication between services, and expanding funding for longer appointments and advanced hearing technologies. Further research opportunities in this area are suggested.

Key findings about hearing loss in the working-life: a scoping review from a well-being perspective

Sarah Granberg et al.

Summary: This scoping review focused on key findings regarding hearing loss in the working life from a well-being perspective. The analysis identified individual aspects, work environment, and work organization as important themes. The study suggests that the interplay between individual and environment in relation to HL and well-being in the working life is complex and needs more exploration in future research.
