New sustainable flame retardant DOPO-NH-functionalized polyamide 6 and filament yarn

Marija Colovic et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel approach for the preparation of a flame retardant polyamide 6 polymer with chemically bonded DOPO as a pendant group bridged to the polymer via an -NH- group. The chemical modification decreased the molecular weight of the polymer, improved thermal stability, and enhanced flame retardant properties of the material.

A novel synthesis of ditrimethylolpropane biphosphoramide diethyleneamine as flame retardant and antistatic textiles

Wei Jiang et al.

Summary: The synthesized phosphorous- and nitrogen-containing flame retardant, DBD, significantly improved the flame retardancy, wash durability, and antistatic properties of wool fabric. Vertical burning tests and limiting oxygen index values demonstrated the effectiveness of DBD in reducing burning time and char length, achieving a B1 flame retardant rating and increasing the flame resistance of the treated wool fabric.

The Bi-DOPO derivative functionalized graphene oxide: Preparation and its flame-retardation on epoxy resin

Pengfei Ji et al.

Summary: The novel functionalized graphene oxide (F-GO) decorated with a double-phosphaphenanthrene structure was successfully incorporated into epoxy resins as a highly effective flame retardant, enhancing the fire resistance and mechanical properties significantly. Despite the extremely low loading, F-GO had a significant impact on the limiting oxygen index, total heat release, and peak heat release rate of the epoxy resins.

Application of solubility parameters in the preparation of PMMA with permanent antistatic, high toughness, and excellent optical properties

Si Chen et al.

Summary: A novel kind of PMMA copolymer, P(MMA-co-MAA-co-SPMA), with permanently antistatic, high toughness, and high transparent properties, was synthesized via radical copolymerization. By selecting the appropriate compatibilizer and release agent through solubility parameters, the copolymer's molecular weight was increased, and its structure and properties were characterized. The copolymer shows improved transparency, impact strength, and reduced surface resistance, making it suitable as antistatic materials, with the antistatic mechanism involving absorption of water and ion channels formed by 3-sulfopropyl methacrylate potassium salt (SPMA).
