Grain Transformation and Degradation Mechanism of Formamidinium and Cesium Lead Iodide Perovskite under Humidity and Light

Kevin Ho et al.

Summary: Understanding the degradation pathways of mixed cation perovskites reveals that exposure to both light and high humidity can lead to a multistep decomposition process, involving phase separation and evaporation of certain components like FA. This knowledge can aid in the development of more stable perovskites by suppressing grain transformation during phase separation.

Novel H2S multifunctional sensing materials: Cu or Ag-decorated (4,4)SWSiC nanotubes

R. Safaiee et al.

Summary: Density functional theory was used to investigate the H2S sensing ability of pristine and Cu or Ag decorated (4,4)SWSiC nanotubes. Results suggest that Cu-decorated nanotubes may be effective thermopower-based H2S sensing materials. Adsorption of H2S led to significant changes in energy band gaps and carrier effective masses, indicating potential for resistance-based schemes. Spin-distinct band structures influenced by H2S suggest potential use of decorated nanotubes in spin-current-based sensing devices. Overall, the study provides insights for designing high-performance H2S sensing devices.

Surface Ligand Engineering for a Lead-Free Cs3Cu2Br5 Microcrystal-Based Humidity Sensor with a Giant Response

Yanyi Huang et al.

Summary: This study utilized surface ligands (OLA and OAm) to modify lead-free Cs3Cu2Br5 perovskite microcrystals, preparing an environmentally friendly humidity sensor. Experimental results showed that sensors with different ligands exhibited varying impedance changes at different relative humidities. Short-chain OLA promoted the formation of porous films with strong water absorption capacity, enhancing sensor sensitivity, while long-chain OAm facilitated the formation of dense films, improving response ability at low humidity.
